What would the horror world be if not for tragic puns and word plays? Eat the Parents tells the story of a young couple, Brad and Sarah, about to entertain Sarah’s parents for dinner. Brad, who works at a local museum, excitedly brings home a rare voodoo artifact to show his girlfriend. After a nasty tumble down the stairs, poor Brad dies, and just when the parents are due to arrive. Sarah uses her voodoo expertise to revive Brad, and then the awkward, gooey, Peter Jackson-esque gross-out humour begins. Much like Zombie Jesus, it’s a campy, one-joker that runs a little long but keeps itself afloat with plenty of good ol’ zombie gore. (James King)
