Don’t be fooled. This cute little catalogue is part of the master plan. Detour (a publisher of chapbooks and the magazine TransMission) plans to become the premier North American distributor and publisher of transportation related publications focused on environmental advocacy. To that end, this insidious catalogue is crammed with all the anti-car literature you must have. Included are such classics as Beyond the Car: Essays on the Auto Culture (reviewed in the last issue of bp), Bike Cult and Car Free Kit (comes with the Car Use Reduction Video and the Car Use Reduction Program Manual). Listen you Detour guys. Why don’t you distribute some zines too? How about C.U.N.T. (chicks united for non-noxious transportation). Get back to me on that one.
