CinÈ-VHS

CinÈ-VHS is dubbed “An international guide to editing movies between two VCRs.” Jonathan Culp has attempted to create a completely pictorial instruction manual, though it succeeds more as a visual tribute to the joys of DIY. The art style is simple, and the drawings are so lacking in detail that it’s quite useless as a technical guide. Its presentation and story are giddy and childish, managing to be entertaining without words. If it were actually possible to learn something from this comic, it would be all the more delightful. As it is, it’s worth the look and great for a chuckle but not much more. (J. Blackmore)
