Cheerleader

Winnipeg’s Cheerleader churns out  well-crafted indie pop with chunky  guitar hooks and self- deprecating,  ironic singing about girls and stuff like  that. Cheerleader’s strength is in their  quirky songwriting:”Truckin’,” -which  has nothing to do with the well-known  Grateful Dead song of the same title – builds up to the oddly hummable refrain  of “Happiness is a ray of sunshine /  Haul it away on a flatbed trailer.”  Altogether, though, it’s nice-sounding  but unremarkable stuff.
