Anar-Comics
What are Anar-Comics all about? They seem to be about portraying the class struggle through bits of found comic strips such as Beetle Baily, Dennis The Menace, and Hagar. What you basically get are individual boxes from strips minus the jokes. It’s kind of subversive, ingenious, and (after the first page) a little boring. I mean, I can see where Culp is going with this, but it’s like the one trick pony. Once you see the pony’s trick for the first time, you don’t have to see it again. (DP)
