A Puddle to Call My Own

A Puddle to Call My Own

Fans of ‘Untitanic Tales’ rejoice! Here’s a fat collection of all_new Boy Ugly strips, every bit as fucked_up and strangely mystifying as the first ones. The fireman, the nun, that big hairy tooth_like creature… They’re all here. The best parts, aside from the drawings (which are always impeccable), are the stories. They’re hard to describe in a review, since it isn’t so much what happens as the way it ends up happening. For example: Boy Ugly watches the nun (Ms. Sis) lecture a group of empty chairs for awhile. It turns out she’s giving therapy to rejected imaginary friends. Immediately after we learn this, the Boy Ugly runs towards the reader and says: ‘Don’t worry, I’ll never leave you!’ Right then it felt like I had a grand revelation on the tip of my tongue. Very potent and entertaining comics, guaranteed to make you wonder… (LR)
