Marwa Arsanios’  I’ve Heard Stories and other films explore the intersection of art and documentary landscapes, underscoring the relationship between personal and historical modes of knowing.

The experimental video series is back with a presentation of American Arist Mike Kelley’s works. The early screening features early pieces, and the later one presents Day IS Done, Extracurricular Activity Projective Reconstructions #2 — #32) (2005-2006), where stagings of extracurricular adolescent rituals sourced from high school yearbooks are infiltrated by a motley crew of American stereotypes and supernatural beings, the proceedings overseen by none other than Satan himself.

Big People Party: Pelau MasQueerade World Pride Day Fete Fundraiser, 2pm, Zipperz, 72 Carlton St, $10

Canada’s only queer mas band brings the spirit of Carnival to Zipperz as an afternoon fundraiser for their World Pride activities. A slew of heavy hitting acts are lined up to play soca, chutney, dancehall, reggae, and more. A celebration of African, Caribbean, Indian, Latino/a, Pinay/oy queer communities and allies.
