Fun with Crowdfunding: The Acorn Prance!

PID.476441.Danceathon-1

Evan Munday will look like one of these, this Saturday,
in support of queer kids camp Ten Oaks.

Fundraising takes many forms— bake sales and lemonade stands, spanging, and of course, kickstarter campaigns. But it’s pretty hard to beat what the folks at Ten Oaks Project have come up with, the Acorn Prance!

An annual dance-a-thon extravaganza composed of a bunch of fabulously dessed dancers cutting up a rug (known as “prancers,” obvi) against each other on the dance floor of Buddies this Saturday, March 21st from 1pm-5pm.

The Ten Oaks Project is a unique and amazing project which has summer camp programs for children and youth from LGBTQ+ identities, families and communities. IT’s a lifechanging experience, and camper families are able to ask sliding scale fees. Most of them do. So support this amazing project by sponsoring a dancer!

Although you can sponsor anybody, we’d like to suggest you sponsor local kids author, illustrator, and literary guy-who-you-see-everywhere Evan Munday! He’s already reached his funding goal, which means he will be dancing dressed as a schoolgirl Britney Spears, or the bee girl from the Blind Melon video, but that doesn’t mean you can’t contribute to his dancing or any of his peers on his team, “the dream of the 90s is alive”.
