For the past 4 years, the Western New York Book Arts Center (based in Buffalo, NY) has built itself into a cornerstone for the city’s printing and book-making community, as well as contributing to the revitalization of downtown Buffalo. They sell and create hand-made books, gig posters, and screenprinted art; they have their own art gallery; they run their own printing press; they hold workshops on bookbinding, letterpress and everything in between and they also hold events with talented guest speakers, concerts, markets and more. Also, they made the card below, which I found enjoyable. (Check out this and other items in their Etsy shop.)

Recently, funding setbacks have resulted in Center staff considering whether to cut programming and/or let go of valuable staff members. This would be a major shame, and so the WNYBAC is looking to the public to assist in raising $10,000 of operating funds so they can keep doing what they do (and do it well) at their Indiegogo page.

Perks! Obviously your donations can get you tons of rad screenprinted, handmade beautiful swag. You can get wood-type specimens ($25), a grab bag of show posters made at the studio ($50), letterpress workshops ($150) and loads more. $2,500 will get you your own letterpress, outfitted by the experts at the Center.

There’s so much good stuff here, and it would be so cool if the Center reached its goal by September 11. Watch the video below and pay them a visit at their fundraising page. C’maaan, check it out, it’s so worth it! Support DIY print culture!
