Canzine 2016 Vendor Information

Canzine Vendor Check-in: Toronto and Vancouver

Dear Canzine Vendor!

Thank you for registering for Canzine! Please read the following carefully:

*In Toronto, vendors will be taking over the upper and lower levels of the Weston Family Learning Centre at the Art Gallery of Ontario. Doors will open for setup at 10:30am. No one will be admitted before then. For Toronto, please load in through the doors leading to the Concourse level at the far left of the building (near Beverley St.).

*In Vancouver, we will be using two floors of the Goldcorp Centre for the Arts (149 Hastings) – ground floor and second floor and World Art Centre on second floor. They are connected by a staircase and elevator and are open to each other through an atrium. Doors will open for setup at 11am. For Canzine Vancouver, load in through the front doors of the Goldcorp Centre, coming in from West Hastings St.

*If you have not arrived 30 minutes before Canzine begins (12pm in Toronto; 1pm in Vancouver) your spot will be given to a vendor on our waiting list. Your table fee will not be refunded.

*There will be volunteers at the entrance with clipboards and magazines; please be sure to check in with these volunteers before loading in or looking for your table. We appreciate your patience, as it will be busy at this time!

*After our volunteers have checked you in you will be able to set up your table. Tables are assigned at random. There is no wall space available. Please do not move any of the tables or labels; if you have any concerns, please speak to a volunteer.

*Canzine Toronto and West finish at 7pm. Paying customers will continue to arrive at Canzine as late as 6pm. So please do not begin unloading your table until 7pm.

*If you are no longer able to attend Canzine for any reason, please email us at canzine@brokenpencil.com as soon as possible as we have a waiting list of people hoping to get a table.

Other Important Stuff:
ABSOLUTELY NO FOOD TO BE SOLD OR GIVEN AWAY AT CANZINE. NO BAKED GOODS, CANDY, SNACKS, NOTHING. You can have food for your personal consumption.

Vendors will have a maximum 3 feet of space at a 6’ x 2’ table. There will be two vendors per table.
Vendors are responsible for their own table dressings. Please bring your own tablecloth (A bed sheet can stand in for a tablecloth; cheap tablecloths are also available at dollar stores).

Vendors must bring their own cash float if they plan to make sales, we cannot provide change; a price list is also a good idea.

Vendors are encouraged to bring a banner or sign to identify their publication or group.
Vendors are responsible for maintaining a clean space. Note: vendors must clean up their garbage and leave their space as they found it – clean and free of debris.

Members of Broken Pencil will be asking vendors if they would like to submit their zines and comics to be reviewed in upcoming issues of the magazine. If you would like to be reviewed, please bring an extra copy of your publication and make sure that the contact information, ordering information and price are clearly marked.
