Call for Submissions: Breadbox Chapbook Series

The Head & The Hand Press is looking for literary fiction and nonfiction essays ranging from 3,000 to 8,000 words to be printed, displayed, and sold in countertop vending machines in local coffee houses and elsewhere in Philadelphia.

This is a super cool project! Anyone who has been to The Monkey’s Paw knows how neat a book vending machine is.

Call for Submissions: Synaesthesia Magazine

The theme for this issue is EAT. It’s something we all do, perhaps some of us better than others. In any case, this issue is for fiction full of greasy spoons, big burps, grenadine ink, sentences briming with cinammon and clove. They’re also looking for recipes — recipes that tell stories, that is. Read more at their delightful and hunger-inducing submission guidelines. Deadline February 11.
