Broken Pencil Zine Race at Word on the Street Toronto!

Hey Broken Pencil friends and fans! Come find us in the Magazines area at Word on the Street and get your $10 subscription! And while you’re at it, come check out our event, the Broken Pencil Zine Race from 2:15 PM – 3:15 PM at the  Canadian Magazines Stage

Presented by Broken Pencil Magazine, the 2016 Word on the Street Zine Race will see three of Toronto’s wildest and weirdest artists battle against each other to the death! Editor Alison Lang hosts as indie comix heavyweights Jenn Woodall, Trevor Henderson and Patrick Sparrow will each create a giant comic in 30 minutes or less based on suggestions from audience members.

While the zines are being made, the crowd will get hands-on playing a game we like to call Broken (Pencil) Telephone Zine Making. In the end, a randomly chosen panel of judges picked from the audience will decide the winner and award the third annual Word on the Street Zine Race trophy and a prize pack to the lucky winner.
